Scott Townsend, 50
Scott Townsend, 50, of Mountain Home, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at home following an illness.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 29, at the Jehovah's Witnesses, Kingdom Hall in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
He was born July 3, 1956, in Lakeview, Mich., to Kenneth and Barbara Townsend.
"It is a sad thing to dissolve one's vows of marriage (but) it is a far sadder thing to utterly fulfill them. (He) fulfilled his vows as a husband and father," his family said.
The family noted that "Scott will be remembered fondly as a kind, gentle, and patient man; an upright role model; a dear friend; and a loving husband. His dry and teasing sense of humor will be missed around the dinner table.
"His stories of his 20-year tenure in the military and youth in Michigan will be missed during the starry evenings on the back porch. We shall hear his voice in the books he's read, put an arm up around his spot on the couch, and feel his presence beside us by those fishing holes and mountain trails; because a soul as dearly loved as his shall never truly leave us," his family said.
Scott is survived by: his wife, Pok, of Mountain Home; his daughter, Abi Townsend of Boise; his son, Chris and his wife, Loni Townsend, of Eagle; two sisters, Christin and Toni, both of Michigan, and his half brother, Mike, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and one sister.
