Lezlie Kay Clements, 36, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain Home Air Force Base today, Wednesday, July 12, at 2 p.m. at the Gunfighter Club. A family memorial service will be held in Black Creek, N.Y. on Aug. 2. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
"She was loved by so many and ended her short, but intense battle with breast cancer peacefully and surrounded by loved ones," her family said.
She was married on Aug. 2, 2001, to Christopher Clements at Diamond Head National Park in Honolulu, Hawaii. On April 20, 2005, she gave birth to a son, Gregory Cements.
Lezlie was a proud member of the United States Air Force and served as a Technical Sergeant in the Public Health field. She served at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas, Misawa Air Base in Japan, Ramstein Air Base in Germany, and Mountain Home Air Force Base.
Her decorations included the Air Force Achievement Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf, and Meritorious Service Medal.
She is survived by: her husband, Christopher; her son, Gregory; grandmother Faye Terwilliger of New York; father Arthur Simmons of New York; mother Bonita Terwilliger of New York; sisters Amie Simmons of North Carolina, Stephanie Miller (Blake Miller) of Texas, and Courtnie Simmons (James Doehring) of Texas; brother Derreck Simmons of North Carolina, and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
