Wilma Collins, 87
Wilma A. Collins, 87, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at a local care center, after a long illness.
Funeral mass was held Thursday, July 6, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Wilma was born in Homewood, Kan., on Sept. 16, 1918, to Alfred and Inez Pomeroy.
She married Larry V. Collins, Sept. 20, 1938, in Emerald, Kan., and the couple made their home in Boise. They had two children, Connie and Richard Collins. In 1962, Larry and Wilma moved to Mountain Home where she was employed at the Towne Center Motel and Elmore Memorial Hospital.
"Wilma will always be remembered for her love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren," her family said. "She was a strong, independent woman, who enjoyed working in her yard, taking care of her roses and tomato plants."
She is survived by: her daughter, Connie, and her husband Connley Cruser, of Mountain Home; her son, Richard, and his wife, Mary Collins, of Boise; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Collins, in 1991; sisters Jennie LeMaster and Lavae Nicholson, and brother Bill Pomeroy.
