Vera Lawson, 91
Vera J. Lawson, 91, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, June 10, 2006, in a local care center.
A viewing was held on Tuesday at Potter Funeral Home in Emmett. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 14, at the Emmett Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Vera was born June 9, 1915, the daughter of Robert and Eva White, in Glenns Ferry. She lived in Picabo until high school and then came to Glenns Ferry and lived with her aunt and uncle. She graduated from Glenns Ferry High School. After high school she moved to Emmett with her family.
She married Luther Lawson in Weiser in 1936. Their son, Darrel, was born in 1942, and their daughter, Sharon, was born in 1946. Her husband, Luther, died in October 1958.
Vera worked in packing sheds and then retired from Ore Ida in 1977.
She liked to garden, fish and spend time with her grandchildren.
Vera is survived by: her daughter, Sharon and her husband, Thomas Moyers of Mountain Home; a son, Darrel and his wife, Cindy Lawson of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther, two brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.
