Pebs Jones, 67
Alan "Pebs" E. Jones, 67, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, died May 28, 2006 in Mountain Home.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, on Friday, June 2, 2006, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Pebs was born July 26, 1938, in Boise, the son of Marion and Shirley Jones. Pebs was raised in Placerville and Mountain Home, graduating from Mountain Home High in 1956.
On Sept. 10, 1956, Pebs joined the United States Navy and served until Sept. 9, 1960.
After leaving the Navy, Pebs spent the rest of his career as an electrician working in Arizona, Washington and Idaho, retiring to Boise in 2002.
While living in Tombstone, Ariz., he was active in the community, a Scoutmaster for the local Boy Scouts, member of the community playhouse, and a major member in the Tombstone Vigilantes.
Pebs loved the outdoors, spending most summer weekends fishing and camping. An avid sports fan Pebs loved spending Saturday afternoons watching college football and cheering for his Boise State Broncos.
He is survived by: a daughter, Debra Eylander, and her husband, Kevin, of Marysville, Wash.; one son, Dustin Jones of Oklahoma; his mother, Shirley C. Jones of Boise; a sister, Judy A. Watt of Boise, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Edward "Rocky" Jones, and one son, Michael Alan Jones.
