John Gardner, 81

John L. Gardner, 81, of Mountain Home, died Friday, May 12, 2006.

Funeral Services to be held in Entiat, Wash., at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

John was born June 24, 1924, the son of John and Nioma Gardner in Wenatchee, Wash.

He joined the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He married Martha Schepper of Decatur, Illinois in June of 1944.

John loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a longtime resident of Kent, Wash.

John is survived by: his wife, Martha, of Mountain Home; sons Jim Gardner and Bill Gardner both of Mountain Home; daughters Nat Gardner of Anchorage, Alaska, and Gail Ferguson of Long Beach, Wash., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives in Washington and Illinois.
