Track team finishes fifth at Twin Falls meet
Both the Mountain Home girls and boys track squads came in fifth at the Twin Falls Invitational Track and Field Meet at Twin Falls High School last Friday.
Kacy Barrie took first in the 100 meter high hurdles and was second in the 300 meter hurdles. Kaleena Bluemer had Mountain Home's other first, winning the shot put.
Piper Coffin came in third in the high hurdles and was fifth in the 300 hurdles. Alyssa Saltzgaber was third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.
Emily Moranda was third in the 300 meter hurdles, and Shantel Crane was fifth in the shot put.
Mountain Home's 4 by 100 meter relay team came in third.
In the boys competition, Brandon Sloan had Mountain Home's only first, winning the 800 meter run. Kyle Clark finished second in the discus, and Nick O'Briant was second in the high jump.
Third place efforts went to Victor Werner in the 400 meter dash, Josh Driskell in the shot put and Zacq Hale in the triple jump.
Brandon Doble finished fourth in the 300 meter hurdles, Chris Knudson was fourth in the 200 meter dash, Nick Barrie was fourth in the long jump and Eric Smith came in fourth in the pole vault.
Scott Riley finished fifth in the 800 meter run and Bob Daniels had a sixth place finish in the 100 meter dash.
"It was a good tune-up for district," said Tiger head track coach Rich Urquidi. The Tigers go to the District III 4A Track and Field Championships this Thursday and Friday at NNU in Nampa.
