Ken Talbert, 70
Kenneth "Ken" Brendon Talbert, 70, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, in Mountain Home, after a battle with cancer.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, April 25, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
Ken was born Nov. 25, 1935, in New York city. He married Janet Parker on June 2, 1972, in Matawan, N.J.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Ken pursued a career in architecture, then civil engineering on the east coast. Eventually he broadened his experiences by traveling westward.
His favorite accomplishment was supervising the construction of the Mobile Transport Unit for the space shuttle in Florida.
An avid outdoorsman and expert skier, Ken loved hunting and fishing everywhere he traveled, his family said. "Over the years he tried so many things, from sculpting, oil painting, sky diving, flying, building motorcycles and more. As a young man he often sang solo on the radio. He shared his love for all these things with his family. Anyone who knew Ken liked him and enjoyed the many stories he told about his life."
His family went on to add, "Ken was not only a loving husband, he was an excellent father to his pride and joy, daughter Tami, and her husband, Eric Parker of Nampa, Idaho.
He also is survived by: stepdaughter Susan and her husband, Kent Hansen, of Roy, Utah; three grandchildren, a nephew and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepbrother, a stepsister and a stepson, Edward.
