Bob James, 67
Bob James, 67, of Boise and Pine, died from a stroke Friday, March 10, 2006 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise with his family at his side.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, from noon until 1 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian. Graveside services will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery.
Bob was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Woodland, Calif., to Milton and Illa James. He attended Richmond High School, graduating in 1956, and went on to Contra Costa College.
He started his working career laying hardwood floors, but soon became employed with Pacific Gas & Electric.
He married Susan VanRyper on June 27, 1959. They had two children together.
In 1968 he moved his family to Rupert, Idaho where he started working for Intermountain Gas Co. in Sept.1969.
He was active in the Rotary Club and also was a volunteer firefighter.
On May 3, 1980, he married RaNae Rawson in Rupert, where they resided until the spring of 1981. He was then transferred to Boise and became the Western Region Service Supervisor.
Bob and RaNae built a cabin in Pine where they enjoyed karaoke, boating and were active in the Idaho Snow Riders Snowmobile Club. In September 1996 they retired and lived full time at the cabin where many happy memories were made with friends and family, his family said. In 2002 they bought a fifth-wheel trailer and spent several months in Oregon where they enjoyed long walks on the beach. They moved back to Boise in 2004.
Bob is survived by: his wife, RaNae; his children, Bob (Karen) James of Federal Way, Wash., Brenda James of Burley, Michele (Rick) Baker of Indianapolis, Ind., and Spc. Shirley Clingan, U.S. Army, serving in Iraq; his sister, Sharon (Don) Deabenderfer of San Pablo, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
