Ruth Braswell , 82
Ruth G. Braswell, 82, of Grand View, died Jan. 20, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa, after a short illness.
A memorial to honor and remember Ruth was held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at the Rimrock Senior Center in Grand View. Pastor Paul Ryan officiated.
Ruth was born May 30, 1923, in Salmon, Idaho, one of four children born to Edward and Alice (Peck) Corrigan.
Her younger years were spent in and around the area of Clyde, Idaho. Her family moved to May, Idaho, where she attended school.
She was living in May when she met and married Bert Braswell on March 9, 1938. They had 3 children. Robert, Sharon and Steven.
They lived in Ontario Ore., Payette, Idaho, Arco, Idaho, and Eagle, while raising their children.
Upon retiring Bert and Ruth moved to Grand View, where they remained. Bert died in 1997.
Ruth became involved with the Rimrock Senior Center, and the Lions Club, volunteering many hours to both.
"Ruth was a caregiver at heart, whether it was man or animal she was willing to care for them," her family said. "She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren great-grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and could out-fish anyone."
Ruth is survived by: her son, Robert and Linda Braswell of Kuna; her brother, Richard, and his wife, Alice Corrigan of Payette, and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, her daughter, Sharon Pelagio, and her brothers, Ed and Jerry Corrigan.
