Ruth Lewandowski , 90
Ruth A. Lewandowski, 90, of Elmore County, died Dec. 26, 2005, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, of natural causes.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Hillcrest Trinity Assembly of God in Boise. Pastor Jackie Marshall of Hillcrest Trinity Assembly of God and Pastor Ted Buck of Central Assembly Christian Life Center officiated. Burial followed in Cloverdale Cemetery.
Ruth was born in rural Columbia County, Washington, to Elmer and Amelia Searl, on Aug. 13, 1915. She grew up and graduated from high school in Dayton, Wash.
Ruth married Ernest Lewandowski Oct. 19, 1938. They had six children: Mae, Robert, Betty, Louella, Calvin and Wanda.
She "loved the Lord and instilled in her children a strong faith in God," her family said. She "lived in her own home until her death. She loved to garden, which was good with the large family she and Ernest raised. She especially loved her flowers and roses and iris were just some of her favorites."
She is survived by: five of her six children, Mae (George) Marsolek of Greenville, Tenn., Betty (Ken) Nason of Hubbard, Iowa, Louella (Marvin) Hansen of Caldwell, Calvin (Anne) Lewandowski of Lenexa, Kan., and Wanda (Leon) Dazey of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Illa Lewandowski of Boise; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett and Oliver, her husband, Ernest, in July 1988, and her son, Robert, in July 2005.
