Chuck Jordan, 67
Charles "Chuck" E. Jordan, 67, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at his family home in Mountain Home ,after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded at his bedside by his family and friends who love him, his family noted.
Services were held Dec. 3, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Jordan was born on May 28, 1938, in Inglewood, Calif., the son of Charlie and Esther (Claycomb) Jordan. He lived there off and on for a time but spent most of his years in Mountain Home. His three children, Deanna, Sherri and Eddy, were all born in Mountain Home.
He enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, casino hopping and spending time with his family. He would make countless trips every year to see his daughter, Dianna Lynn Sweitzer and her family, and then again to see his son, Eddy and his wife.
"His word was his bond," his family said. "He loved the mountains above Mountain Home and he loved this community. He was very proud of his service to the Elmore County EMT service for 14 years. He was also proud to be a part of the Elmore County Sheriff's Department, Special Deputy Unit.
"He will be greatly missed by many people whom he touched deeply in many ways.
"He was also very proud of his adopted family the Swensons. He loved them," his family noted.
He is survived by: his daughter, Deanna Lynn and her husband, Dale Sweitzer, of Winchester, Calif.; his son, Edward J. and his wife, Michella Jordan, of Kuna; his sisters, Marlene Crouch and her husband, Dave, of Boise, and Evelyn and her husband, Bob Dearmond, of Boise; a brother, Larry, and his wife, Sally Hoekert, of Walla Walla, Wash.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and his baby daughter, Sherri Jordan.
