Mary Ganger, 91
Mary Katherine Ganger, 91, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at the Elmore Medical Center Long-Term Care Unit, with her family by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, with burial following at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Mary was born on Aug. 21, 1914, in Dolton, S.D., to Frank Kappenmann and Nellie Nugent Kappenmann.
Raised on the family farm with her nine siblings, Mary graduated from Dolton High School in 1932.
After graduating, she started working in retailing in Minneapolis, Minn. During that time she met Garland L. Ganger and they were married on Oct. 10, 1942, in Dolton.
After WWII, Mary and Garland moved to Oregon where their children were born.
In 1960, the family moved to Idaho, settling in Mountain Home.
She was a member of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
She is survived by: her daughter, Gwen Ganger of Los Angeles, Calif.; her son, Lowell and his wife, Karen Ganger of Mountain Home; two grandchildren; and four sisters, Rosalyce, Ritamae, Lucille, and Josephine, all of South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland, and one grandson, Christopher Ganger.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elmore Medical Center Long-Term Care Unit.
