Eileen Stoddard, 91
V. Eileen Stoddard, 91, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005.
She was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Faulkton, S.D., to Furness and Lillian Leonard Lambert.
She married Hanford George Stoddard June 15, 1934, in South Dakota.
She attended Yankton College at Yankton, S.D., and later graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education from Black Hills State College in Spearfish, S.D.
Eileen taught school in South Dakota for 17 years and in Mountain Home for 23 years.
She loved teaching and was a Sunday school teacher at the Congregational Church 23 years.
Eileen was active in the Mountain Home Senior Center and was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels for several years.
After retiring from teaching Eileen was a volunteer at Elmore Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home for 20 years.
Eileen was a member of the Congregational Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta Pi.
Eileen is survivedby: her son, Roger Stoddard and his wife, Nancy, of Cottonwood, Ariz.; daughter Kerry Fost and her husband, Gary, of Boise; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hanford, brothers Harold and Leroy, sister Peggy and a granddaughter.
The family noted that "the best memorial to Eileen would be volunteering to the school or nursing home of your choice."
