John Ligon, 87
John M. Ligon, Jr., 87, of Mountain Home, died Oct. 27, 2005, at a Boise Care Center.
He was born May 19, 1918, in Princeton, Kent., the son of John and Elsie Ligon, Sr. He was schooled in Kentucky and attended college. He enlisted in the Air Force, and while serving, he married Betty Powell on Aug. 15, 1953, in Salina, Kan., at Smokey Hill Air Force Base. John and Betty were blessed with three sons. After 20 years with the Air Force John retired, and went to work at Todd's Shipyard in Long Beach, Calif., and at the same time owned his own shoe repair shop.
John retired a second time and moved to Mountain Home in 1982, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by: his wife, Betty; four sons and two stepsons, John M. Ligon, III, of California, Lawrence Ligon of California, William B. Ligon of Twin Falls, and John B. Ligon of California, Ron Hazuka of Mountain Home, and Larry Hazuka of California; ten grandchildren and one great-grand child.
Services are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.
