Girls soccer team wins SIC conference crown
The Mountain Home Lady Tigers soccer team completed their regular season conference schedule without a loss, with wins over Skyview and Emmett last week, and in doing so won the SIC 4A conference championship.
That also gave them the number one seed going into the District III 4A Girls Soccer Tournament in Caldwell.

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers improved to 7-0-4 last Monday with a 3-2 SIC 4A conference girls soccer win over Skyview at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.
Jessica Hendershot, Emily Moranda and Francesca Hale all scored goals for Mountain Home, Hale also had an assist. Stacy Sigloh also had an assist. Savannah Lopez had 11 saves on goal.

The SIC 4A conference championship was on the line when Mountain Home and Emmett squared off against each other at Eastside Park last Thursday. Emmett, who had tied Mountain Home, 1-1, at Emmett, came in with a 9-0-2 record, while Mountain Home was 7-0-4.
Mountain Home scored two first-half goals to lead, 2-1 at halftime, but Emmett came back to tie it up early in the second half.
Mountain Home battled back to score twice late in the match to win, 4-2, and capture first place going into this week's District III 4A tourney at Caldwell.
Jessica Egusquiza scored two goals for Mountain Home, and had one assist. Francesca Hale and Emily Moranda also had goals, Jessica Hendershot had two assists.
Savannah Lopez had eight saves on goal as goalkeeper.
"It was an excellent win!" said a happy Mountain Home girls head coach Carlos Jacome. "It was beautiful! We've been trying to get Emmett for awhile and it worked beautiful. We broke their streak, and we never lost a game in conference, so we're happy and we did very good. It was an excellent game and we had a lot of fight and we came out here with a mind that we wanted to win this game, so I'm pretty happy with all of them!"
The win improved the Lady Tigers to 8-0-4, in conference, while Emmett finished the regular season, 9-1-2 in conference, and Mountain Home won the conference championship, and the number one seed going into the District III 4A Girls Soccer Tournament at Caldwell.
With the top seed, Mountain Home had a first round bye on Monday, and played yesterday (Tuesday) against Monday's Vallivue/Kuna winner.
First round action on Monday, besides Vallivue against Kuna, had number two seed Emmett facing number seven seed, Nampa, and third seeded Skyview going against number six seed Caldwell.
A win by Mountain Home Tuesday would put them in the championship game on Thursday, and automatically qualify them for the State 4A Tournament in Boise on Oct. 27-29.
