Steve Wicka, 28
Steven B. Wicka, 28, of Mountain Home, died Oct. 14, 2005, at home with his family by his side.
Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Services are under the directions of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.
Steven was born Sept. 7, 1977, in Tuscon, Ariz., the son of Denis and Norma (Anderson) Wicka. He graduated from high school in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1996.
Steve enlisted in the United States Air Force in May of 1998, where he was stationed at Mountain Home AFB as an Air Traffic Controller.
While stationed there he met and fell in love with Patty Dunn and they were married in September of 2000. In February of 2002, they welcomed their first child, a son, Tanner, into the world. They were again blessed in November of 2004, with a daughter, Madilynn.
Although Steve was extremely proud of his occupation as an air traffic controller and his military service they were both tragically cut short due to his fight with cancer, his family noted. He was medically retired in 2004.
Steve was an avid hunter with a passion for the outdoors and was always willing to help anyone in need. "He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his wife and children," his family said.
He was also a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Mountain Home.
Steve is survived by: his wife, Patty; a son, Tanner, and a daughter, Madilynn, of Mountain Home; his mother, Norma Anderson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; his father, Denis and his wife, Suzie Wicka, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother, Michael and his wife, Stacey Wicka, of Longbeach, Calif.; and a sister, Anna and her husband, Jared Johnson, of Flagstaff, Ariz.
