Virginia was born at Filer, Idaho, on June 4, 1924, to Joe and Isahee Stoddard Humphrey, one of seven children. She came to Mountain Home from Boise in 1992.
"Virginia never met a stranger," her friends noted. "She had a very special way of letting you know when she didn't like something in no uncertain terms. She met many friends in her life who helped to care for her due to her life-long disability. She succeeded in leaving a mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
"She was generous with her friendship, and would travel place to place at Cedar Crest making sure everyone was okay. She loved to sing songs with friends and sometimes made up her own to sing.
"Virginia loved to eat french fries and grilled cheese sandwiches in the local restaurants. If she could, she would thank all her friends who cared for her, Dr. Michael Koelsch, all friends and staff at Elmore Medical Center, Elmore Memorial Nursing Home, at Cedar Crest Residential Care Center, and many others along the way."
It is unknown if she had any living family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Hospital Fund at the Elmore Medical Center, P.O. Box 1270, Mountain Home, Idaho 83647.
