Luses hold golden wedding anniversary

Charles and Shirley Luse of Dallas, Ore., formerly of Mountain Home, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a private family dinner on Sept. 4 in Salem, Ore.

Charles and Shirley were originally from the Quad Cities, Ill.

Charles Wesley Luse and Shirley Joann Fisher were married on Sept 4, 1955, at First Christian Church in Moline, Ill.

Charles was in transportation at Mountain Home Air Force Base and retired in October 1993.

Shirley retired from office work in 1987 and is a homemaker.

The couple was formerly active in square dancing. Charles was the president of Sage Brush Shufflers Square Dance Club of Mountain Home. Shirley was treasurer.

Their family includes Jim and Carol Luse of Dallas, David and Tama Littley of Chesapeake, Va., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
