Isaac seeks another council term
Alain Isaac has announced her bid to run for reelection to the Mountain Home City Council.
A lifetime resident and longtime business owner in Mountain Home, Isaac has been active in her business association, Brand Source, for 12 years. She served two terms as the region's president representing the Rocky Mountain Region in an organization with a budget of $4 billion.
"One of the assets I bring to the city council is my more than 20 years of experience as a downtown business person and my working knowledge of large budgets," said Isaac. "We are in uncertain times economically and my experience will be helpful in guiding the city through these times."
Alain was voted as Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year for 2003 by a group of her peers for her community service. She was chosen from more than 5,000 applicants to carry the Olympic torch as it passed through Mountain Home four years ago, but had to decline because she was running for office.
She has served on the board of directors for Cheer Basket of Mountain Home (as treasurer) as well as Rotary, Military Affairs Committee (where she served as chairman), and Silver Wings of Idaho. Alain has been instrumental in many fundraising events, most recently, Operation Crayon, sending school supplies to Iraq.
"Volunteering has been high on my list of priorities. You cannot have the community you desire without going out there and pitching in. Volunteering has taught me the value of teamwork --an asset I also can bring to the city.
"My goal for the coming council term is to concentrate on planned, managed growth. I want to be a part of the process that makes this community a place we can all be proud of."
