Dean McLaughlin, 54
Dean E. McLaughlin, 54, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at his home in Mountain Home.
Memorial services were held Tuesday July 12, at the Masonic Hall of Mountain Home, 320 N. 8th East St. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Poplar Cemetery in Poplar, Minn.
Dean was born March 18, 1951, in Poplar, Minn., to Robert and Ardith (Chapin) McLaughlin. Dean was baptized at the Poplar Community Church and confirmed at the Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer, Minn.
Dean was schooled in Spicer and New London, Minn. After graduating from high school Dean joined the United States Air Force and spent 23 years in the service, retiring as a master sergeant. He had lived in Mountain Home for the past 23 years.
His hobbies were coin collecting, photography, DeMolay of Mountain Home, and an independent business owner. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and many friends.
Dean was a member of Legacy Business Group, DeMolay of Mountain Home, the VA, International society of Photographers, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Boy Scouts of America.
Dean is survived by: his three sons, Terrance Dean and his wife, Jamie Ellen, James Lyle, and Andrew Thomas McLaughlin, all of San Diego, Calif.; step-brothers and step-sisters, Jan, Donna, Char, Pat, Karen, Charles, and Steve Chapin; his father, Robert, and stepmother Elsie McLaughlin, of Willmar, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ardith, and step-brother Lenny Chapin.
The family request no flowers, but suggest memorials be made to DeMolay of Mountain Home, c/o Richard Broemeling, 955 Terrell Dr., Mountain Home 83647.
