Nina Bruce, 71

Nina Jean (Koenig) Bruce, 71, formerly of Mountain Home, died April 13, 2005.

Memorial services were held April 30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Walnut, Iowa. An additional service will be held in Mountain Home at a date to be determined.

A 1951 graduate of Walnut High School, she went on to briefly join the United States Air Force, where she met and married her husband of 32 years. After 28 years of military service the couple retired to Mountain Home. She later moved to Trenton, Mich., to be near family.

She is survived by: her sisters, Geraldine Petersen and Audrey Hartje of Iowa; three children, GMC(SW) (USN retired) Terry Bruce of Rockwood, Mich.; SFC (USA retired) Larry Bruce of St. Louis, Mo.; and MSgt. (USAF retired) Rhonda Frederick of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Bruce; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSgt (USAF retired) Jimmy R. Bruce; her parents, Henry and Alma Koenig; and two brothers and a sister.

The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
