Blanche Woodall, 89
Blanche E. Woodall, 89, formerly of Grand View, died Saturday April 16, 2005, at a Boise Care Center.
Services were held Monday April 25, at Knight Community Church with committal at Riverside Cemetery in Grand View. Arrangements were under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
Blanche was born Oct. 10, 1915, to E.A. and Anna (Nord) Combs. She attended school in Glasgow, Mont.
She met and married Edsal (Ed) on Dec. 23, 1934, in Glasgow, where he was working for MK Construction Company.
While working for MK they traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Nevada, Oregon, Colorado, Wyoming, North Carolina and California.
Their only child, Edsal H. Woodall, was born while they were in California
In 1940 Blanche and Ed moved back to Idaho where he worked on the Anderson Ranch Dam project. MK then transferred Ed to Grand View to work on Strike Dam.
Ed and Blanche enjoyed the people of the area so much that when the dam was completed they purchased the Grand View Garage, which included Goodman Oil Fuel Distribution.
They lived in Grand View until Ed's death in 1984. Blanche then went to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
In 1997 due to poor health, Blanche was admitted to a Boise Care Center where she remained until her death.
As a wife and a mother Blanche enjoyed cooking and Sunday dinners with her family and friends. She was active in the Knight Community Church and Ladies Aid for several years. She was also a Girl Scout leader.
Blanche is survived by: her son, Ed Woodall and his wife, Marge, of Nampa; a sister, Laura Campbell of Montana; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, four brothers and two sisters.
