Sandra Cochran, 63
Sandra Mae Cochran, 63, of Mountain Home, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at a Boise hospital.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 15, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel.
Sandra was born March 3, 1942, on Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Corwin N. and Vivian R. (Davis) Hammond.
Sandra married Jesse L. Cochran on July 2, 1961 in Santa Ana, Calif., and lived there for 38 years. They raised two children, Sabrina and Jesse, Jr. " She was the best homemaker and mother any family could have always making sure everyone was taken care of before herself," her family noted.
In 1999, the couple retired and moved to Mountain Home. They came here to visit her brother and "fell in love with this beautiful town and it's people."
"Sandra loved helping people, especially kids," her family said. "She spent countless hours sewing dolls and buying toys with every dime she could spare so that less fortunate kids could have something for Christmas. In southern California she would take many bag lunches and blankets and give them to homeless people. Whether you were family, friends or homeless she always made sure everyone was well fed. Sandra also loved to sew. She made the best quilts, dolls, clothes and her most favorite thing to make, sock monkeys.
"Sandra was a great woman. She always did her best to make other people happy and never once asked for anything in return. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly."
She is survived by:her husband, Jesse L. Cochran, Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and David Alvarez; her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse, Jr. and Page; her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Julie Davis; and three grandchildren.
