John Maledy, 79
John L. Maledy, 79, Mountain Home, died after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at his home, with his daughter by his side.
Per John's request no services will be held. A celebration of John's life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at 1775 E. 23rd North St., Mountain Home.
Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
John was born Dec. 30, 1925, to John Maledy and Emma Stephens Maledy and raised in the state of Missouri .
John was a member of the Parachute Infantry during WWII in the South Pacific. After getting out of the service John traveled around the US on his Harley until he met and married his wife, Geraldine (Jeri), in 1953 in California. They lived mainly on the West Coast during their many years together.
John retired in 1985 after many years in the construction industry.
On Oct. 13, 1995, his family noted that "his beloved wife passed away as John promised he would stay by her side until the end."
John once again enjoyed traveling around the country on his Harley until his sickness brought it to an end.
John is survived by: his daughter, Coralea Breezley of Mountain Home; daughter Melody Mackey of Duvall, Wash.; a son, DeLon Turner and his wife, Jeni, of Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Ralph Maledy and his wife, Marseal, of Columbia, Mo.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Both of John's parents preceded him in death.
