Jones celebrate 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jones as they looked at the time of their wedding 60 years ago.

Jim and Loretta Jones have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

The couple were married on March 1, 1945, in Portland, Ore.

Loretta was originally from Portland, while Jim originally was from Birmingham, Ala.

Jim served in the Navy in WWII and then switched to the U.S. Army for the rest of his 22-year military career.

The couple worked for State Farm Insurance in Idaho for 30 years, and Jim served a term in the Idaho legislature, representing Elmore County.

"We owe our blessings to the Lord and our happy life here to the gracious people of Mountain Home," Jim said.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Cactus Pete's.
