Martin Hoegg, 74
Martin Hoegg, 74, of Mountain Home, died Thursday Feb. 24, 2005, at home, with his family by his side.
Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
Martin was born April 13, 1930, in Tepl, Germany which is now the CK Republic, Czechoslovakia, to Odolf and Marie (Moser) Hoegg. Martin was raised in Saltzburg, Austria.
He was drafted in the United States Army while visiting the United States in 1953. He served in Vietnam in 1968, and retired in 1979 after 26 years of service. He continued working with the government another 15 years.
Martin married Julie Schimmer in 1956 and they had four children. After his retirement he and Julie moved to Mountain Home to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.
Martin is survived by: his wife, Julie, of 48 years; sons Martin Hoegg of Maryland and Thomas Hoegg of Pennsylvania; daughter Elfie Stoehr her husband, Russ, of Mountain Home; brothers Konrad Hoegg and his wife, Monika, of Austria, and Herman Hoegg of Denmark; sister Anna Frish of Austria; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers and one sister.
At Martin's request private family inurnment services will be held at a later date at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
