Eleanor Fischer, 91
Eleanor M. Fischer, 91, of Mountain Home, died Jan. 29, 2005 at a local care center.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Mountain Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home.
Eleanor was born on Jan. 25, 1914, in Dobbs Ferry, New York, to Raphael and Antonetta (Andretta) Pittsey. She moved to California with her family at the age of 11. She met her husband to be, Edgar Fischer, some years later and they moved to Ross, Calif., where she lived for 56 years.
Eleanor worked as an emergency telecommunications operator in California for Marin County for 27 years.
In 2001 Eleanor moved to Mountain Home to be closer to her daughter, Ellie Graffee.
Eleanor resided at Ashley Manor since her move to Mountain Home. Eleanor enjoyed listening to opera and was an accomplished pianist. She played for 75 years. She was a member of St. Anselmo's Parish, in San Anselmo, Calif.
Eleanor is survived by: her three daughters, Lila Forest of Silver City, N.M., Ellie Graffee and her husband, Jim, of Mountain Home, and Ellen Parry and her husband, Robert, of Roseville, Calif.; one sister, Carol Maher and her husband, Jack, of California; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, one son, one brother, one sister, one grand daughter and one grandson.
