Bob Grove, 70
Robert "Bob" E. Grove, 70, of Mountain Home, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at his residence.
At his request no local services will be held. An Easter Brunch Wake will be held in Reno, Nev.. Cremation is under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Bob was born April 12, 1934, in La Grande, Ore., the son of Howard and Ruth A. (Griffith) Grove. He graduated from La Grande High School in 1952 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1953.
Bob married Mary Catherine Ann Long on Sept. 29, 1956, in London, England.
He was honorably discharged from the USAF on Feb. 8, 1957. Upon returning from London with his bride to La Grande, Bob started a life-long tenure with Northwest Pipeline and settled down to raise a family, making his home in Boise and later in Eagle, before retiring from the pipeline after 30 years.
Bob enjoyed spending time at Les Bois Race Track with his friends. He also enjoyed a yearly Easter brunch/Birthday trip to Reno and loved having family and friends join him to celebrate, his family said.
He later moved to Mesquite, Nev., before returning to Idaho.
Bob enjoyed his time in Mesquite and especially enjoyed taking family and friends out to his favorite casino.
Bob is survived by: his best friend and mother of his children, Mary C. Grove of Mountain Home; son Joseph Robert Grove of Washington; daughter Cathie Ann Petera of Kansas; seven grandchildren and three great-grand- children, brother George C. Grove, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his beloved grandfather Edwin Grffitth, his mother, father and sister Linda E. Grove.
