Karen Freckleton, 55
Karen S. Freckleton, 55, of Grand View, died at her home surrounded by family, on Nov. 6, 2004, after fighting a battle with cancer.
Graveside services will be held today, Wednesday Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Grand View. A celebration of her life will be held at the new Grand View firehouse immediately following the graveside service. Services are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home.
Karen was born Oct. 20, 1949, in Orange, Calif., the middle daughter of William and Margaret Fisher.
Karen was raised and received her early education in Phoenix, Ariz.
She then went on to college in California where she met her first husband in November 1969. They decided to move to Idaho where they lived until divorcing in 1982.
In 1984 Karen met and married Melvin Freckleton, "the gentleman that brought a smile to her face," her family noted.
Karen worked at Albertson's Corporate office for 15 years as a Senior Contract Administrator in the Labor Relations Department. She had an accomplished career and retired in 2003.
She and Melvin decided to move to Grand View for that "small hometown feeling." Karen was an active member of the Grand View Volunteer Fire Department and her community.
Karen is survived by: her husband, Melvin, of Grand View; daughters Kellie and her husband, Jeff McFall, of Boise, Becky Inglis of Boise, and Misty and her husband, Jason Payne, of Portland, Ore.; sons Bruce and his wife, Connie, of Meridian, Pete and his wife, Dottie, of Boise; sisters Donna and her husband, Dustin Rose, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lolinda Fisher of Williams, Ariz.; her father, Bill Fisher of Phoenix, Ariz.; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Karen's name to the Grand View Fire Department.
