Ruby Fowler, 79
Ruby Fay (Henslee) Fowler, 79, of Glenns Ferry, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at a local care center in Mountain Home.
A memorial service was held at the Glenns Ferry VFW Hall on Friday, Oct. 22. Burial was planned in Bremerton, Wash. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
Ruby was born April 27, 1925, in Marshfield, Mo. Ruby met and married Ollie Henslee in Missouri in 1941.
Ruby and Ollie decided together to move to Kitsap County, Washington State, where they together raised seven children. Ollie (Gent) Henslee died in 1987.
Ruby and John Fowler met in Washington and married June 24, 1993. John and Ruby married late in life and "felt blessed to have found each other and the Lord together," her family said.
Ruby and John still have friends in Port Orchard, Wash. In 2002 Ruby and John decided to move to Glenns Ferry.
Ruby enjoyed her time in Glenns Ferry, and met many friends at the local senior center. Ruby loved going for drives with John or just spending some time sitting quietly by the railroad tracks watching the trains and having lunch together. Her other passion was sitting by the water watching and feeding the birds and ducks.
"Their life together was relatively short, but their love and devotion for each other was admired and respected by all that knew them," her family said.
Ruby is survived by: her husband, John, of Glenns Ferry; Ruby's daughters, Elizabeth Lorance of Port Orchard, Wash., Linda Heath of Glenns Ferry, Shirley Lester of Castle Dale, Utah; sons Will Henslee of Port Orchard, Wash., Ross Henslee of Glenns Ferry, Gary Henslee of Kingston, Wash., and Harry Henslee of Belfair, Wash.; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great -grandchild.
