Pat Rahn, 28
Philip Patrick "Pat" Rahn, 28, of Grand View, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in a car accident.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 23, at the Legion Hall in Grand View. A potluck dinner followed at the Senior Center in Grand View. Arrangements were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
Pat was born on March 21, 1976, to Philip Rahn and Mary Anne Bachman. Growing up in the mountains of Owyhee County, Pat grew to know and love the outdoors of Idaho, his family noted.
Pat met the love of his life, Kris, in the 10th grade. They married and had two children, Philip, 4 and Kara, 2.
For the past several years, they managed a fire engine business, Chariots of Fire, in Nampa. Recently they relocated to Grand View to work on the family farm.
Pat was proud of his children and loved to go into the Owyhees in his "monster truck," (as his son, Philip, liked to call it) always surrounded by friends, family and his Akita dogs.
Pat was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Snowmobiling was another sport he pursued and enjoyed in the winter months.
"Pat was a good friend to many and always considered others before himself," his family said.
Pat is survived by: his wife, Kristin Rahn; their children, Philip and Kara; parents Philip and Lez Rahn and Mary Anne Bachman; sister Anna and her husband, George Scherer and their children; grandparents Viola Black and James and Martha Munro and many other cousins, family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Black, and stepfather, Larry Bachman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Rahn Children Fund at any local U.S. Bank.
