Peggy Beach, 84
Margaret (Peggy) C. Beach, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004.
To honor her wishes, she was cremated and no funeral service will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home.
To reminisce and honor her there will be an open house for friends and family on Wednesday evening, Aug. 25, from 5-8 p.m. at the home of Martin and Moira Beach, 4250 N. 18th East St., in Mountain Home.
Peggy was born on Jan. 20, 1920, to William and Mary Watson in Philadelphia, Penn., where she graduated from Germantown High School.
She was trained and then employed as a general lab technician at Jewish Hospital in Philadelphia.
On Nov. 16, 1944, Peggy enlisted in the US Navy and served until Aug. 20, 1946, when she was honorably discharged.
While stationed at Vallejo, Calif., she met Harold J. Beach. They were married on June 18, 1947, and moved to Mountain Home in 1950, where they raised their five children.
Peggy worked at Elmore Memorial Hospital as a medical technologist from 1955 until her retirement in 1982. She was a highly skilled technician in both lab and x-ray and many patients would request her specifically whenever they needed lab work, her family noted. They added that "Peggy loved the ocean, traveling, dining at restaurants, word puzzles, working in her garden and she thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren."
Survivors include: sons James (Kay) Beach of Riverside, Calif., Robert Beach of Fort Collins, Colo., Martin (Moira) Beach of Mountain Home and Dennis Beach of Boise; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Isabel Jones of Surf City, New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, William Watson, and a granddaughter, Charmaine.
