David Wallace, 84

David E. Wallace, 84, of Mountain Home, died May 14, 2004.

Cremation will follow private memorial services that will be held at a later time. Arrangements are by Jerry Rost through Demaray Chapel of Gooding.

Wallace was born April 29, 1918, in Lewiston.

He served in the armed forces from June 9, 1941, to Sept. 15, 1945.

He married his wife, Maria, on Sept. 19, 1950, in Boise.

He ranched on Smith's Prairie for 19 years. He retired from the Elmore County Highway District in 1978.

Wallace was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the American Legion, VFW and several amateur radio units.

He wrote his own biography of the life he had lived.

He is survived by: his wife, Maria; daugher Rena Madsen-House; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, David.
