Ronald Ghio

Ronald Joseph "Ragu" Ghio, formerly of Mountain Home AFB, died April 13, 2004, at his home in Meridian.

Visitation for family and friends was held April 17 at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Road Chapel, in Meridian.

"Ron was larger than life. A warm loving man who always had a smile on his face, a joke on his lips, and the warmest of hearts," his family said.

Ron retired to Meridian after 21 years in the United Sates Air Force, serving his second love, The United States of America. "He loved his country and everything it stood for. He reveled in the idea of serving his country so that it remained free for future generations," his family said.

"An avid sportsman, he was truly happy when in the woods, either with a hunting rifle or fishing rod in hand or at the campfire with beer in hand telling one of his endless stories. Outdoor sports were not his only passion. He loved his Giants and 'Niners, feeling both the joys of victory and the sadness of defeat that only the San Francisco teams can deliver."

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Renato Ghio and Niccolet Lucretcia Ghio; his soulmate, Ms. Teri Lynn Cavallo of Meridian; his brother CDR. George F. Ghio, Jr., of San Diego, Calif.; his sisters, Becki Bayman of Fresno, Calif., and Saundra Sutton of San Diego, Calif.; and his parents, Ms. Addie Jackson of Fresno, Calif. and George F. Ghio, Sr., of Aptos, Calif.
