Mary Tapp, 57
Mary Alice (Rowell) Tapp, 57, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
Mary was born March 17, 1946, in Drumright, Okla., to Thomas and Nora Rowell. As a young girl, she moved to Nampa, Idaho, in 1957 with her family. There she met her high school sweetheart, David Tapp, at age 15, whom she later married.
Mary graduated from high school in 1964 and attended beauty and hair college.
On August 28, 1965, Mary and David were married. The following year their daughter Lisa arrived. Two years later David Jr. was born and in 1974 her family became complete with the arrival of their youngest child, Brandie.
Mary's whole life revolved around her family and children and she especially adored her grandchildren, her family noted. "She had a unique way in showing each of her grandchildren how special they were to her," the family said. "Mykel, Riann, Ranie, Oakleigh and Stone will miss their 'GOMI'.
"They and all who know her forever will be enriched by her unconditional love. Mary's soft touch, tender and giving heart and loving thoughtfulness will be greatly missed by all of us," the family added.
Mary is survived by: her husband of 38 years, David Tapp; children Lisa Egusquiza and husband, Randy, of California; David Tapp, Jr., and Brandie Kearby and her husband, Mike, of Mountain Home; five grandchildren; father Thomas J. Rowell of Nampa; brothers Bobby, Calvin, Tom and Kevin; sisters Bonnie, Judy, Gladys, and Sherrie; and her aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Roger Rowell.
