Roberta Matthews, 84

Roberta B. Matthews, 84, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at the Elmore Medical Center Long Term Care Facility after a long struggle with Alzheimers disease and other health complications.

At her request, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Roberta was born in Middletown, R.I., on March 25, 1919.

She was married to the late Sturgis Matthews of Portsmouth, R.I.

She moved to Mountain Home in 1992 with her daughter, Sara Morrison, who came here on active duty with the Air Force.

Roberta's greatest enjoyment was gardening and flower arranging. She belonged to many garden clubs.

She was an active member of the Episcopal Church and served on many committees. She devoted much of her time to Bible study.

Roberta is survived by: two daughters, Sara Morrison of Mountain Home and Sharon Haas of Ohio.
