Tom Mack, 63
Thomas "Tom" R. Mack, 63, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at a hospital in Boise.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Tom was born on Dec. 8, 1939, in Altoona, Pa. He left Altoona in February 1957 and spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. Tom met and married his wife, Nelly, in Germany. He retired in June of 1977.
Tom worked for the school district for 22 years and "he really enjoyed it," his family said. "He always said that it was a challenge working with the students."
After retiring from the school he went to work part-time for the Elmore County Juvenile Probation office.
"Tom enjoyed and loved his family, camping, fishing and Oly Beer," his family said.
Tom is survived by: his wife, Nelly Mack; son Thomas and daughter Helen Mack Backer, all of Mountain Home; brothers Gerald Mack of Lilly, Pa., Donald Mack of Los Angeles, Calif., and sister Janet Conway of Altoona, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Josef, brothers Bob, John and Charlie, and sister Helen.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made in Tom's name to the American Cancer Society, 2676 Vista Ave, Boise ID 83705.
