Victorene Blashfield-Phipps, 58

Victorene Blashfield-Phipps, 58, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, after a battle with cancer.

Services were held Sept. 19 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mountain Home, with Fr. Raul Covarrubias officiating.

She was born in Chinook, Mont., on Oct. 28, 1944, to Willam and Genevieve House Blashfield.

She and her husband, David, came to Mountain Home in 1975, but, the family noted, "she wasn't very happy with Idaho, so, to compensate for what she thought Idaho lacked, she made her own 'little Montana' right in her backyard."

The family added that "Victorene will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, their day-care person or a woman who liked to keep to herself, but most of all the way she loved Montana."

She is survived by: her husband, David; her children, Lesa, Shane, Michelle and Becky, and six grandchildren.
