Elmo Collins, 70
Elmo Joseph Collins, 70, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at the Veterans Hospital in Boise.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.
Elmo was born July 28, 1932, in New Orleans, La., the son of William and Kate (Ford) Collins.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in September 1951, retiring with the rank of tech sergeant in March 1974.
Elmo married Addean Garner on July 12, 1953, in Fernwood, Miss. They have lived in Mountain Home for over 30 years.
Elmo was a member of American Legion Post #26 and the Masonic Sabre Lodge #7, both of Mountain Home, Honorary P.M. 32nd Degree Mason, Willianette Consistory #24, Mina Temple #68, Zem Zem Shrine Club and Masters Club.
Elmo is survived by: his wife, Addean Collins of Mountain Home; son David C. Collins of Boise, three daughters, Linda and her husband Eddie Nicholas-Figueroa of Maryland, Rogena Marie Brown of Mountain Home and Sharon Kay and her husband Kim Freeman-Raines of Virginia; brothers Andrew Collins and Roy Collins, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Ralph Collins of Jackson, Miss.; sisters Josie McDaniels of Summit, Miss., and Annette Rollins of Jackson, Miss., 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Larry D. and Joseph E. Collins, one brother and two sisters.
