Sharon Deckard, 61
Sharon Judy Deckard, 61, died at Hillcrest Rehabilitation and Care Center in Boise on Saturday, July 5, 2003, after a prolonged illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Mountain Home. Due to her health, she spent the last three years of her life in care facilities in Boise.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
Sharon was born Aug. 24, 1941, in Mountain Home to William Rufus Alexander and Nola Ruth Deckard. She attended public schools in Mountain Home.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting cookbooks.
Sharon babysat her nieces, nephews and grandnephews, and took pleasure in watching them grow up. An important part of her life was participation in the Mountain Home and Boise Jehovah's Witnesses congregations. Her religious beliefs gave her comfort and support during her illnesses, her family said.
Sharon is survived by: her mother, Nola Deckard of Boise; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Gordon Knorr of Dillon, Mont., Barbara and Steve Thompson of Mountain Home, and Sandra and Ed Loveland of Auburn, Wash.; nine nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and infant sister, Nancy.
