5 Times You Should Choose Uber Over Driving
Just call an Uber. How many times have you heard people utter those words? Thanks to Uber and Lyft, you can have someone else drive you just about anywhere you need to go. And in some cases, it's better to take an Uber instead of driving yourself.
Here's when you should leave your keys at home and let someone else take the wheel.
1. When Heading to the Airport
If you're heading out of town, it's usually easier to take an Uber than to rely on a local taxi service or a friend to get to the airport. Uber is usually the more affordable option, and in many cases, the ride is more comfortable.
Some drivers offer their passengers bottles of water and snacks, too – a perk that you won't get with a regular taxi service.
2. When You're Out for a Night on the Town
If you're heading out for a night on the town, calling an Uber may be better than driving yourself.
Calling an Uber means that you can get home safely even if you have a little too much to drink. It also alleviates the stress of having to find parking and gives you a little more quality time with your friends.
3. When Visiting a Big City
Driving in a big city can be intimidating. It's not always easy to find your way around a big city, even when you use your GPS. Let someone else deal with the stress of traffic and finding their way around town.
And if the worst should happen (you get into an accident), Uber's insurance should provide up to $1 million in liability coverage for injuries and property damage.
Calling an Uber also means that you get the chance to relax and take in the sights while driving around town.
4. When Attending an Event
Heading to a big concert, show or festival? Forget having to fight for parking and walking a mile. Call an Uber and get dropped off right up front. When it's time to go, hop in your Uber and get dropped off at your doorstep.
You save on gas and parking fees. Most importantly, you eliminate the stress of having to wait in traffic going to and from the event. You may have to pay a little more for an Uber ride like this, but it's often worth the extra cost.
5. When Your Car is Acting Up
If your car is acting up and you don't have the money to get it fixed right away, it may be safer to call an Uber to get where you need to go. Some people use Uber to get to and from work on a regular basis. And if your car trouble turns out to be worse than you expected (i.e. more expensive), you may find that ridesharing is cheaper than a new car payment, insurance and gas.
Many people who live in urban areas have ditched their vehicles entirely and now rely on Uber to get where they need to go.
