Our back comprises of approximately 30 bones, which are known as vertebrae. When you do any activity, the disk between your vertebrae, acts as a shock absorber. Vertebrae also helps in protecting nerves in the spinal cord that are combined together by ligaments, tendons and muscles.
Maximum weight of your body is carried by your back. Hence, when you do any activity, whether it is jumping, running, brisk walking, picking something from the shelf or twisting your spine, every action is controlled by the disk. This means the disk has a lot more work to do. That is why when your weight is unbearable or any activity that is forcing the disk to work can affect that area and you suffer from chronic back pain.
Back pain can start immediately or occurs after a long time of suffering. They are warning signs of something bad happening to your back bone. When this pain becomes acute, we prepare ourselves by taking painkillers. It might take care of your pain for some time, but when this pain increases from days to weeks and then to months, then it is time to consult a doctor before it becomes a chronic disease.

Even doctors say that after a hectic routine your body and muscles need relaxation. When you take rest, it is necessary that your seeping position is correct. This doesn’t mean that you need to exercise while relaxing, but when you lie down straight you should have a pillow beneath your knee.
