BTW - my first flagging job was on SH-55 between Karcher and Sunny Slope. I threw a 2 foot orange cone in front of some lady's caddy as she sped by me at about 45. She stopped!!!!!

What you, I and many others hope and pray for, (537 new face's ) will NEVER happen! Know why? Because real true campaign finance reform will NEVER happen! EVERYBODY that PROFITS from campaigns will block it! INTERFERENCE IN THE FREE MARKET!! Will be the screams from the right. The left will have it's own slogan, that's for sure!

Look at the facts. The cost of winning a primary dwarfs the cost of even a decade ago. General elections? Just look at the size of both parties war chests. Just think of all of the television, radio and newspaper ad revenue and jobs at the advertising agencies that would be impacted by strict regulation of when campaigns can start. How long they can last. Strict limits on donations. Bans on PAC's and SUPER PAC's.

The fact of the matter is that our government, from city council to the presidency is for sale to the highest bidder. You know it and I know it and so does everyone else, even if they won't admit it. The state of our entire economy is for sale to the highest bidder. Trust me, if there is a profit to be made, corruption will reign supreme.

Are you willing to take the flack for trying to reign in the corruption? Being called a leftist for advocating interference in the "FREE MARKET"?

This has long since ceased being a Republic by the people and for the people. It is a government by the rich and for the rich! BOTH SIDES!!!!

Oh shoot, I made an edit in the 3rd paragraph and now campaign finance reform can be called a job killer, because I included jobs in the advertising industry that would be impacted by true reform. Like they don't have enough other crap to sell us!

So the bottom lines is, those that promote real, meaningful campaign finance reform are going to be called job killers, anti-free marketers, leftist, liberals, communist, and any other name that you can think of that could be used to cause division and sidetrack the real conversation.
