It seems that I'm not the only one dissatisfied with the current state of affairs when it comes to American politics. The never ending battle between the far left and the far right, leaving those of us in the middle disenfranchised. Well I came by this article a few minutes ago, and after reading it, I thought, what a great idea! It's not a new concept, but it sure is a whole new way of trying to achieve a goal. This nation is at a turning point. The Democrats will nominate Obama, while the Republicans are engaged in a battle of the hard right trying to gain control of the party. Net result, the moderates and independents are left out in the cold again. If this new movement has any success, it will forever change the face of politics in America. If they achieve 20-30% of the popular vote, they will be a force to be reckoned with. The question will be asked, should the President be elected by a majority or a plurality? The last time that happened was in 92. Was the outcome good or bad?, that depends on your point of view. Is this the wave of the future? Only time will tell. Here is the link to the article.

Buckshot, you forgot Teddy Roosevelt. I'm 61 and have a very good memory of politics, and I can hardly consider any of the G.O.P. contenders even close to center-right.

I think Roy, that the only effective thing to do in this cycle is to vote out incumbents. That might seem drastic, but nothing else has worked to get Everyone's full attention.

If they thought that they were going to lose their cushy jobs and power, it might help get something done in the blame game and make them think twice about always being in election mode instead of doing their jobs.

Certainly writing letters and voicing our concerns and opinions haven't warranted much consternation or caution.

I don't consider myself a "hard" right person. I do have some criteria that I stick to regardless of the labels that get slapped on us for speaking our own minds.

Some of these people keep ignoring the warning bell and think that it doesn't apply to them.

I saw a bumper sticker in Boise the other day that said "Reagan/Palin". That might be hard right.
