Mothers Day 2013
I don't know about anyone else, but I want to know where Spring went! One day I am wearing sweaters and the next, I am turning on my fan!
Here is a small list of thankful thoughts to all of the mothers who bind us together as a family with their special kind of love.
Being Thankful:
I am thankful that I still have all three of my Moms to love and cherish.
I am thankful that each of them has taught me something about life in a good way. And inspired me to persevere when the going got tough.
I am thankful for the opportunity to be a Mom. The nicest thing about motherhood is being a grandma. Enough Said!
I am thankful for those mothers who always seem to volunteer for everything! Their energy seems to be limitless in the face of carpools, sporting events and music lessons.
I am thankful for moms who never hesitate to pray when they get a phone call in the middle of the night by a hysterical friend.
I am thankful for the mothers who provide a safe haven for their children. And go the extra mile to nurture a few extras that come to their door in need of a hug or a warm meal.
I am thankful for the fierce Moms who fight for a better life for their children. The mothers who refuse to give in to dire predictions concerning their off-spring. Where would we without Mozart's music? Or if Thomas Edison's mother agreed with his teachers that he was dumb?
Many of our younger mothers are serving in the military and are stationed far away from their children and loved ones. I salute their courage and sacrifice so that we might live in a free country.
I am thankful that there are mothers out there who choose to carry their children to full-term in spite of grim or tragic circumstances.
I am thankful for all the mothers who give birth and unselfishly give their child to a loving couple who cannot have children of their own.
I am thankful for the mothers who find themselves taking care of their own mothers, children and grandchildren during a time of their life that should be fancy free.
There are many more descriptions of dedicated motherhood out there and I invite you to supply a few of your own.
I am also sending hugs to those whose mothers have passed away. What we would all do for another hug, a cheery phone call or an opportunity to say I love you one more time.
Happy Belated Mother's Day Everyone. I hope that your special day was filled with homemade notes, odd little gifts and spontaneous hugs.
