I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
Today was a momentous day in America. So many decisions have been made by those who do not have our best interests at heart. Our sense of peace has been shattered.
Tonight, David and I watched a recording of the White Family singing the song that we had chosen for our wedding nearly 22 years ago.
With permission, I am going write out the lyrics;
Title: I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
I don't know about tomorrow;
I just live from Day to Day
I don't borrow from the sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know What Jesus Said.
And Today I'll Walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
Chorus:
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to Understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know Who holds my hand.
Every Step is getting brighter
As the Golden Stairs I climb;
Every Burden's getting lighter,
Every Cloud is silver-lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dry the eye;
At the ending of the Rainbow
Where the Mountains touch the sky.
Chorus
I don't know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the One who Feeds the sparrow,
Is the One who stands by me.
And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But His Presences goes before me
And I'm covered in His Blood.
Chorus
On Sunday, I will be turning 53. I don't feel 53. I think back on my birthdays and I have had good ones and bad ones. This year, I am just thankful to be living.
I believe that we as a nation are like one big puzzle. Some of us fit on the edge and support the inside pieces. No picture is complete without all of the puzzle pieces being placed where they belong.
When one piece comes up missing, it spoils the entire enterprise and a person feels cheated somehow. Or, if a particular portion of the puzzle stumps us; we are humbled by a five year old picking out the correct piece on the first try.
I love puzzles, but I am not a natural. I can't take a piece and automatically place it where it belongs. No, I have to make several attempts to just get one piece to fit.
In the end, it comes down to having a "fresh" eye take a look at it and put things back into perspective before I can finish a puzzle.
Our God is an Awesome God. Just like the North Star in the Sky; we can never be lost for long if we recognize Who Holds Tomorrow and Who Holds Our Hand.
