  • Well said Mike. While we may disagree on some things, there are even more we do agree on.

  • I really regret not being able to meet you at Jessie's. I have met Lamont and I really like him. There will be another day I'm sure.

  • Well, admittedly, I have voted a straight ticket several times in the past. I DID try to learn what each candidate stood for and did not see anything that would make me want to vote otherwise.

My parents always voted a straight Democratic ticket when I was young. As time went by, they started to see how the parties were changing. During the last years of their lives, they voted split-ticket. BUT, most of their votes were for the Republicans.

I can NOT vote a straight ticket this year! And, probably not many times in the future.

There is just so much corruption, lies, spin, etc. now in politics. If we don't really check on each candidate and vote accordingly, we will continue on down this dead end road. AND at the end of this road will be the horrors that have beset so many nations in the past. TOTAL Socialism is just around the corner for us now. If we don't 'nip it in the bud' (as Barney Fife said), we will have Socialism before we realize it. After that------?

  • My dearest "Bazookawoman",

No, you didn't hit a nerve at all: I was just inferring that I think you're a nut.

Your incessant rambling about how your beliefs are right and everyone else is wrong grows tiresome. Labeling everyone who disagrees with you as a liberal grows tiresome also.

And please don't tie my calling you a Nut into a generalization of my belief towards conservatives (I've stated several times that I myself am a conservative; your memory fails you yet again).

Stay up there on your pedestal as long as you wish.

  • Personally, I think that Mike is a very interesting person. Having met him, I am even more impressed with the vast array of subjects that he can discuss with you in a conversation.

I only hope one day that he and my husband David get to meet. I think that they would enjoy visiting together very much.

I don't think that he is a nut. He doesn't get in your face, but he will stand up for his views. He won't call you names either.

As upon meeting him, I can also assure you that he doesn't wear tin foil and his head or indulge in rabid dissertations on conspiracy theories.

And to go even further, I think that he would gladly cross the street to shake your hand or to save you from being hit from a bus.

  • Thanks for the concern, but no snow up here today. In fact none in the forecast for the week.

I just think if a person finds any of these blogs "tiresome", just don't click on it, for Pete's Sake.

Mike's blogs are his opinions, thoughts, and ideas. Not the gospel, or the "Written Word" Problem is, sometimes he makes too much sense, and it offends some. It never hurts to read another person's opinion, ... but I suppose if it does, just don't read it.

I've been called a racist once or twice too... but it's for sure I'm not.

With that said, I'm going to admit I've been the full gamut with Joe McNeal. I liked him to begin with. Then disagreed with some of his stuff, and told him so. He called me once at work, and wanted to "change my mind" I told him, "Joe, I"m at work, so I really can't talk now" He said "Well, I'm at work too, so we have to talk" (or something like that) I said..."Well my job isn't your job, and vice versa, I'm not paid to talk to you right now" In the end, I finally had to say "I'm going to hang up now" and hung up. I don't care for him, and have had other issues with him. What I mostly don't care for, is that he didn't respect my opinion. He kind of acted like if he could just "explain to the little woman, she might just understand" yep, I was angry.

No Lamont, I don't want YOU on my bad side. I enjoy our repartee far too much. And I enjoy how loyal you've been to me, once we came to terms. You've always been respectful to me, and that's all I require, really of anyone. And I always want to remain on your good side also.

I love you too! I hope next time we meet, you'll be able to join us!
