While we are at, how many know Otter is collecting over 4 thousand to live in his own house as Governor at tax payers expense, just cause he doesn't want to live in the mansion Kempthorne purchased with Idaho tax dollars and never has been a Governor live in it but the upkeep goes on, with the mansion on the hill that JR Simplot sold to the State.

Otter quit collecting to live on his ranch when he got caught.

I thought the mansion was donated to the state as long as they maintained it.THAT BEING SAID I figured they couldnt sell it.

The thing that bothers me about our public officials we seem to have a lot of them in legal trouble,to many in my opinion and that says something about us the electerate.We should not tolerate this garbage and I am with zook they should step down.Or we should call for there resignations and or recall there butts.There party affilition be darned.

Dollars to donuts, they will all be re-elected. I'd be willing to bet even money, that if people were to dig deep enough, most of the politicians in the state house all have their hands in the cookie jar. It seems the sheep come in red and blue.

I doubt that there are more than 10% of politicians world wide that don't pilfer money, gifts, etc. It has been that way for ever. I'm 69 and can remember several scandalls that happened when I was a kid. We see a lot of the pilfering; but, how much is going on that we don't see? I consider myself a red, white, and blue blooded American conservative. BUT, call it like it is whether it be Dem. or Rep. Wrong is wrong. The zook is RIGHT.

OBSERVER.....YES WE COMPLAINED ABOUT WASTE ON ACTIVE DUTY AND SINCE WE RETIRED.We may not have been able to control a lot of it but we complained.Also if you know anything about TDY you would know most of the time the money did not cover exspenses.$16 dolloars a day didnt buy a lot of food and lodging even back then.I DONT THINK YOU CARE FOR THE MILITARY OR AT BEST ARE REALLY MISINFORMED.

Guess I am not up to date JR Simplots place being sold or donated to the State. Now that the comment was made your guess is as good as mine. I do know its costing the State alot of money each year to maintain it and nobody lives there.

Observer do you have something specfic about military waste on TDY money or just shooting holes at the military. Just like been stated TDY money never covers the cost of those trips. You will find that all of us costs money out of our pockets everytime and the pay was never that great to wear the uniform. It sure appears that you have no clue what the people in the military have to do on a day to day working conditions but we did it and yes we complained then about the waste of money in alot of areas.

Otter didn't have to pay back a dime! As I understood it, ole J.R. did a land swap deal with the state, but the state is stuck with that white horse that even ole J.R. didn't live in.

Hey Mike what thinks they going to believe that? To many that never served but still they know it was one big party with all the good pay and benefits, no overtime just another 9 to 5 job nites and weekends off. And don't forget all the paid vacation time if your boss would let you take 30 days off at one time.

I really don't care if some of them never served if they wasn't a draft dodger or going to another country so they didn't have to serve. My problem is people telling me how good we all had it and they don't have a clue what military life is about.

Did that bill of his pass? I thought it was shot down. He isn't the only state senator with trucks and look at the transportation board and see who is on that. Most all trucks are speeding now and if the speed limit was put at 75 they would go 80. Leave it at 65.

Ammo, the speed limit was raised for trucks to 75mph. Check the signs on the road, they have already been changed. Yes he isn't the only state senator with a trucking company but he was one of the bills SPONSORS. You can't look at just because they all are corrupt that it is ok for our senator to be corrupt.

Abolish the IRS; implement 23% national sales tax. (May 2011)

What is his sales tax plan? 9% or 23%? If it's 23%, and you add a 9% income tax you're on the hook for 32% of your pay going to taxes. If the IRS is abolished, then there will be no "tax breaks", so there is no way to lower the 32% tax burden.

Now if this is correct, Then your personal tax costs will go up dramatically. I don't think too many of us here are in the 28% or 33% tax bracket.
