Yes, THOSE are toys that were made to last. Truly you can hardly find that kind of quality any more. I bought my oldest son the big "Tonka" trucks, backhoes, .... everything we could find. And they had a place outside where excavation was done daily. I think maybe we bought the last ones, because, after awhile, I couldn't find them any more. I went on a search when I had Grandsons, and they are not to be found. But heck, I went on a search to find Jilly/Gillian, real pots and pans for their own little kitchens.... Those aren't really easy either, but I did find some .... kind of, not what I wanted, but I was desperate. (what you find is fake kitchens, and electronic toys for "education"...I wanted imagination to be working)

Anyway, yes, I remember those toys, and wish I had all of mine....alas, I was careless.

I also had some Barbies. Somehow, they always wound up with broken legs....got bucked off I spose .... heheheh Mom quit buying me them early on

    Great story, great pictures, Mike

  • My son has his Tonka Toys, they were well-used and loved. I can still see him speeding down the sidewalk with one knee on the back of his dump truck.

I think being nostalgic is a great stress reliever!

    Thank you!

  • Can I have your truck? lol ! We still have some toys in the attic, don't even know whats up there anymore.... Every time I have made a move seems like they follow us.

I still have my Dolls from when I was a child. I got a Brides Doll my Grandma bought me but she lost a shoe some where along the travels.

I like your Truck ! Thanks for sharing
